Built around operating reality
Over the last decade, EJ has helped launch markets, build commercial organizations, design operating systems and lead complex, regulated operations.
At AutoChek Financial Services, he leads commercial and operational execution supporting automotive financing across African markets. A member of AutoChek's founding team, he previously led the company's East Africa expansion, launching operations in Kenya and Uganda.
Earlier leadership roles at CARS45, later acquired by OLX Group, and Jumia, listed on the NYSE, shaped his approach to marketplace operations, commercial performance, customer experience and business intelligence.
Alongside his executive responsibilities, EJ serves on the Board of The Adaptis Group Africa, mentors founders within the Atlantic Canada startup ecosystem and contributes to conversations on scaling businesses, operational excellence and venture building.

- Diagnose the real constraint. Separate recurring structural friction from temporary operating noise.
- Translate strategy into accountable execution. Make priorities, owners, trade-offs and evidence explicit.
- Build systems rather than dependence. Create operating capability the organization can sustain.
- Respect context. Adapt the operating model to the market without abandoning control or discipline.
Selective advisory
EJ works selectively with founders, CEOs, boards and investors where his experience is directly relevant. Engagements sit alongside active executive responsibilities and are subject to availability, fit and conflict considerations.
